We are looking for someone to join as soon as possible and will consider contract work as well as full time employment for the right candidate.

This role will allow you the opportunity to design, develop, build and eventually send into outer space a new satellite technology that reduces plasma damage. Electronics Engineer

An exciting new opportunity for an experienced electronics engineer to work in a dynamic and growing startup. 

If you are passionate about spacecraft technology, this role will allow you the opportunity to design, develop, build and eventually send into outer space satellite sensors, space-grade PCBs and FPGAs. If you want to feel empowered to create new concepts and ideas and see them flourish from concept to orbit, Space Talos is the place for you.

This role involves developing an FPGA firmware that will measure errors from single events. You will be working with the rest of the team to understand the requirements for testing and objectives of the testing campaign. In the mid-term, you will grow in your role and will be working with the team to understand and suggest ways to integrate the radiation shield developed with an existing FPGA chip or board. In the long term, you will be involved in the design, development and testing in orbit of a true commercial FPGA with Space Talos proprietary shielding. During your time in the company, you will be learning about space radiation and the environment, the challenges on electronics and you will be doing research on existing mitigation methods on memory and processors, rad-hard systems, their advantages and shortcomings.

We are looking for a proactive, independent, hands-on engineer who is keen on taking ownership of projects and is proud of his/her work. The ability to interact comfortably within a dynamic startup team environment is essential. The Company

Space Talos is a space technology company founded in 2018 and is committed to protecting satellite electronics from space radiation. We are developing hardware that can deflect ionised particles away from the electronics sensitive volume and therefore enable real-time onboard processing, memory storage, robotics and manufacturing in the harsh environments of space.

The Role

If you are passionate about space, conscientious and tech-savvy, this role will give you the opportunity to be part of an exciting team, reporting directly to the CTO. You will develop code that will drive the product design and ultimately influence the product that will be sent into outer space. You will gain experience in key processes of tech development within a startup from the seed stage onwards. By being part of the Space Talos family, you will be empowered to see new concepts and ideas flourish from concept to space orbit.

A breakdown of your activities could be summarised as follows:

40% of the role will be related to writing code in C++, maintaining code, reviewing push requests and ensuring the legacy of the code and its stability.

30% of the role will involve expanding your knowledge on particle physics, familiarising yourself with the code and reading existing literature and best practices.

 15% will involve team meetings, brainstorming, setting next targets and presentations.

15% of the role will be simulating user cases requested by the CTO, generating plots and performing data analyses.

The Company

The Role

If you are passionate about space, organised and tech-savvy, this role will give you the opportunity to be part of an exciting team, reporting directly to the CEO. You will gain experience in the key processes of tech startups from the seed stage onwards.

A breakdown of your activities could be summarised as follows:

35% of the role will be related to business intelligence, doing competitor analysis, performing market research and creating content. You will also be analysing data (from accounting, previous projects, marketing data etc) and generating reports and insights. 

35% of the role will involve accounting and operations admin (bookkeeping, VAT returns, expense logging). You will be assisting the CEO (prescreening emails, setting up meetings, monitoring action items, organising the cloud and improving processes/templates).

15% of the role is web-based, improving the website, uploading content and handling social media.

15% of the role will be business development / front-facing. You will be initially shadowing, and attending meetings, and later talking to industry professionals to gather insights for the sector. You will be handling and optimising the CRM system of the company. Later with training, we can offer you the opportunity to perform pre-sales. 

An ideal candidate would be an independent, hands-on individual with a high level of autonomy to assist with the operations of the company. Genuine interest in the space sector is essential.

This position is currently fully remote with the prospect of flexible working in the future. The company has a presence in both London, UK and Athens, GR.

  • Organising the CEO’s calendar, meetings and pre-screening emails
  • Proof-reading and amending documents at the request of the CEO
  • Keeping the meeting minutes and monitoring action items
